Last Day in Hong Kong: Just Eat and Shopping

After using up more than 3 months, on and off posting about our 6N7D trip in Hong Kong. I finally decided to conclude it with some of the food we had and the stuff we did on our last day here. The vibe was relaxed, the schedule was loose... Our poor feet were so sore / blistered from walking around all day (since day 1) that they refused to walk any further.

Temple Street (廟街) and Tak Kee Food Stall (廟街得記大排檔)

Temple Street (廟街) is a place which I've know through Young and Dangerous (古惑仔), the popular Hong Kong series that I watched growing up. And after so many years, we're finally here standing right in front of the street!

Sham Tseng Chan Kee Roasted Goose (深井陳記燒鵝茶餐廳) and Ladies Street (女人街)

Goose meat is a great source of animal protein. As the matter of fact, goose (red meat) contains more myoglobin (an iron-and-oxygen-binding protein) than white meat like chicken or fish. Today, you're lucky enough to be invited to share this juicy plate of roast goose with me, at Sham Tseng Chan Kee Roasted Goose(深井陳記燒鵝茶餐廳), a well-known Chinese restaurant in Mong Kok, Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Trip Day 6: Breakfast at Australia Diary Company (澳洲牛奶公司)

Around 9.30 in the morning, we dragged ourselves to Parkes Street (白加士街) for breakfast at a "cha chaan teng" namely, the Australia Diary Company (澳洲牛奶公司). I have no idea why this and some of the restaurants here are named that way, all I know is, they are famous and serve extremely delicious Hong Kong-style macaroni.

Hong Kong Trip Day 6: Avenue of Stars (新光大道) and Victoria Harbour (維多利亞港)

Yes!!! I'm laying my feet right here, right now on the Avenue of Stars (新光大道)!!! The Hong Kong's version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located along the Victoria Harbour waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.

Sun Kee Restaurant (新記餐廳) Grilled Pork Neck Meat Instant Noodles With Cheese (豬頸肉芝士撈丁)

Guys and girls, this is no ordinary cheese noodle I'm telling ya! The Sun Kee (新記) we visited in Tsim Sha Tsui, is an oh-so-famous restaurant which is praised and loved by most of the Hong Kong celebrities with newspaper cut-outs and photos all over the place. Don't ask me who, cause there were just too many of them that came here to after its signature Grilled Pork Neck Meat Instant Noodles with Cheese (豬頸肉芝士撈丁) and more.

Hong Kong Trip Day 6: Wong Tai Sin Temple (黄大仙祠)

We've always heard of the big name of "Wong Tai Sin Temple" being mentioned by those actors and actresses in Hong Kong Chinese TVB drama series. And from what I know, faithful believers come to this Taoist temple to "Kau Cim" and pray for their prayers to be answered.

Hong Kong Trip Day 5: Famous Local Food & Snacks in Tsim Sha Tsui

After several days in Hong Kong and Shen Zhen, tasting all sort of delicious and heaty food,  we finally decided to treat ourselves with some traditional Chinese medicine like Gui Ling Gao (龟苓膏) and Pi Pa Gao (枇杷膏). I'm not sure about others but I personally like them both to be served chilled with honey syrup, very tempting isn't it? So the question now is, where was this place? Kung Wo Tong (恭和堂) of course!!! We went to the nearest franchise located at 15A Cameron Road (金馬倫道).

Hong Kong Trip Day 3: Madame Tussauds Wax Museum at The Peak Tower

The Madame Tussauds Wax Museum (香港杜莎夫人蜡像馆) located at The Peak Tower, houses nearly 100 wax figures of internationally known personalities, breaking them down into categories such as Hong Kong Glamour, Music Icons, Historical and National Heroes, The Champions and World Premiere. At the entrance, we were welcomed by the renowned Malaysian superstar, Michelle Yeoh (杨紫琼). And Jackie Chan (成龙) was just somewhere behind us :p

Hong Kong Trip Day 4: Hakka Hut Dim Sum and Hakka Cuisine （客家好棧）

I find it difficult to travel from one place to another without having an actual local map or GPS in our hands. The iPad and iPhones didn't come in handy at all when they aren't subscribed to any 3G data roaming when we were in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Trip Day 3: Ocean Park (海洋公园) Ocean Cafe (海洋冰室)

Thank goodness! I managed to shake off some weight that I gained (not sure if I gain any since there were so much of walking and sweating involved) from our 6 days trip in Hong Kong. We spent most of our time tasting the local food and snacks, wherever and whenever possible besides sight-seeing. When we were in Ocean Park, I found majority of the food they sell were hotdogs, burgers, pizzas, or some other fried food which are definitely too heaty for such hot weather. My recommendation is this air-conditioned Ocean Cafe (they named it Cafe Ocean instead, or it should be read from the other way?) that offers a comfy dining area and decent proper meals.

Hong Kong Trip Day 3: Ocean Park (海洋公园) Sea Jelly Fish and Cable Car

Ocean Park is separated on two different sides of a mountain and wide swaths of sea. In order to travel from the WaterFront to the Summit or vice versa, you'll get to choose between cable cars or Ocean Express funicular train. We chose to take cable car first and train second.

Hong Kong Trip Day 3: The Peak Tram (山顶缆车) and Sky Terrace (凌霄阁摩天台)

I skipped a little bit from the Ocean Park (海洋公园) taking you guys to The Peak Tower situated 396 meters above sea level. On our way heading to The Peak Tram Station located at Central's Garden Road St. Joseph Building, we walked pass these two iconic buildings namely the Bank of China Tower (中銀大廈) and the Cheung Kong Center (長江集團中心), incredibly stunning!

Hong Kong Trip Day 2: Cosmic Guest House in Tsim Sha Tsui

Our second and third night accommodation was at the Cosmic Guest House (宇宙宾馆), located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui (尖沙咀). After a long tired day, we thought that we could finally take a good rest in a nice and comfy room but who knows, things were just the opposite, no good rest, no nice and comfy room, and definitely no good night sleep *unhappy* It felt as if we have fallen from heaven to hell, compared to our first night accommodation at the Disney's Hollywood Hotel.

On day 2, we sneaked out from Disneyland in the afternoon and took MTR to Tung Chung (東涌), walked a little bit before reaching the Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal.
