Last weekend was a bless. On Friday, we spent a night at Bestie's, then left for Mariner's Cove Marina the next early morning. Thanks my dearie for the awesome hospitality ♥ The weather was beautifully sunny with light blue skies after few rainy days, absolutely perfect for a whale watching cruise on the Gold Coast.

Easter Sunday: Chillaxing on the Coast
Posted by Unknown on 9:07 PM with No comments
Here comes the beach post!!! With no sexy bikini girls, sorry =p Although it did rain on and off throughout the entire trip, we still had a great time chillaxing on the coast. Totally worth it!

Sushi In Paradise: Easter Sunday
Posted by Unknown on 8:32 AM with No comments
We had the loveliest weather pretty much everyday on the Easter long weekend except Sunday, the day we took off for Gold Coast's Surfers Paradise. Bad luck or what?! It was drizzling a little when we left home in the morning, then chased by heavy rain along the way. I did not have McBreakfast this time, teehee! *proud* Mr. Choo was kind enough to make me a ham and egg sandwich, which lasted me until we found an on-street parking space near Sushi In Paradise and eventually decided that we might as well eat-in there.

Long Weekend Getaway: Seafood and Chocolate Overdosed
Posted by Unknown on 4:23 AM with No comments
These few days, I have so many things going on in my mind (good and bad) that I wanted to share with you, but as soon as I got home and turned on my lappie, I just no longer feel like doing it somehow. I know, I change my mind like I change clothes *smirk*
We came to Max Brenner Broadbeach for high tea last Sunday. I was still quite full to be honest after having some Malaysian food for lunch in the Sunnybank. However, Mr. Choo insisted we should get ourselves a drink and waffle for two, apart from the chocolate souffle which I've been drooling over.

Seorabeol Korean Restaurant: BBQ Dinner
Posted by Unknown on 7:16 PM with No comments
Throughout our 3D2N trip over the weekend, we've tasted all sort of cuisines: Japanese at Hanaichi, Singaporean at the Little Singapore, Australian at the Fishes Cafe, Italian at the Toscani's, Chinese at the King of Kings and eventually had BBQ dinner at the Seorabeol Korean Restaurant on Surfers Paradise. It was all random. We were strolling on the streets and were in the middle of hunting a good restaurant, then this restaurant's sign so happened to come into our sights. We dug up the stairs, flipped though their menus a little bit and decided, "Well yeah, let's try this one out!".

Hanaichi Japanese and Cheng's Chinese Restaurants
Posted by Unknown on 10:29 PM with No comments
Whilst we were still in Brisbane, we headed to Hanaichi for some decent Japanese cuisine for lunch. Evidently, it was not our first but third time visiting the restaurant located on level 3 of Wintergarden Brisbane. The interior has grown to fit in several more dining tables now, since the last time we came. Same goes to the Wintergaden building which stood out looking stunning after a $100 million worth of facelift.

Anzac Holiday Trip: Surfers Paradise and Kimchi House
Posted by Unknown on 5:26 AM with No comments
As we arrived on the Gold coast, we did not head straight to the beach but dropped by Harbour Town for a short while. With a cheerful mood, everyone left the car only to find out sooner that almost all of the outlets were not opened for business. I mean, what could we expect? It was the Anzac Day! We bought nothing and eventually left for our next and final destination of the day.

Night View on Q1 Skypoint Observation Deck Gold Coast and Beach Front Markets
Posted by Unknown on 6:44 PM with No comments
Have you ever spent hours sitting there watching as the sky changes colors? It was like seeing a flower bloom in spring after a long winter, timely and endearing at the same time.

Day View on Q1 Skypoint Observation Deck Gold Coast
Posted by Unknown on 4:58 AM with No comments
Say hello to Skypoint Observation Deck everybody!!! I finally came back again, landing my feet on level 77 and 78 of the iconic Q1 Tower after my first visit here about three years ago. The experiences and feelings were different this time, with different group of friends.

Sushi in Paradise Japanese Restaurant
Posted by Unknown on 4:39 AM with No comments
As if heaven and earth, staring at these Japanese cuisines and comparing them to the century egg and salted egg porridge I had for dinner just now. Truth is, I got food poisoning last night and still in the process of recovering. I don't know why or how I got it, but the enormous amount of pain that it brought to my body?! I really felt like putting a bullet in my brain at that very moment rather than suffering from it, seriously.

Arirang Korean Restaurant and Surfers Paradise
Posted by Unknown on 10:49 PM with No comments
For months, I've been crazily craving for a decent Korean meal. Gosh, I really miss my favorite spicy seafood kimchi soup with tofu, and all sort of bachan (small Korean side dishes) that make me drool whenever I think about them.

Islander Resort Hotel in Surfers Paradise
Posted by Unknown on 3:04 AM with No comments
After settling our tummies (yumcha in Sunnybank), we continued rolling on the highway to Gold Coast. The 50-minute journey led us all to Islander Resort Hotel, our economic one-night accommodation located in the heart of Surfers Paradise.

PADI Discover Scuba Dive at the Wave Break Island, QLD
Posted by Unknown on 5:50 PM with No comments
Look at me! Already armored up in a real tight steamer wetsuit. FYI, water conducts heat from the divers 25 times better than air, which can lead to hypothermia even in mild water temperatures. Comprehend it or not, wetsuit / drysuit is a must when scuba diving in order to protect our bodies from heat loss as well as skin cuts and grazes by rough or sharp underwater objects.

Chevron Renaissance Centre and Paradise Jet Boating at Mariner's Cove
Posted by Unknown on 7:38 AM with No comments
The first thing we did after checking out from the Turtle Beach Resort was to yum jo cha at the Golden Fortune. It was more like a light lunch to us as my BB and I already had cup noodles earlier in the morning. I tried to look up on Google to see if there were any other good Yum Cha spots in Gold Coast, came across restaurants like "Yum Cha Daily", "Top One" (been there a few times, great service but food wise was just average), and Golden Fortune which serves pretty decent dim sums but terribly bad service. So guys, can anyone please give us some recommendations, so that we wouldn't end up visiting here again in the future?

KooKoo Teppanyaki and Lounge Bar at Surfers Paradise
Posted by Unknown on 10:36 PM with No comments
When I said to my boi, "Kia, wa lang ki jiak Koo Koo." in Hokkian dialect, he misinterpreted the line as, "Let's go to eat for a very, very long time." when I actually meant KooKoo, the teppanyaki and lounge bar on the Gold Coast's Surfers Paradise. We had been here once, during the Easter holidays last year and were back again this year for a whole new dining experience.

RiverFire Trip: Golden Fortune Chinese Seafood Restaurant
Posted by Unknown on 8:07 AM with No comments
Some time ago, a big group of us went to "Yum Jo Cha" (have morning tea) at Golden Fortune Chinese Seafood Restaurant on the Gold Coast. The service there was pretty bad and slow, we waited very long for the "Dim Sums" to get on our table. What's worse was that we had to cut and divide the food ourselves, and the waitresses didn't even bother to provide any dipping sauces for us, totally disappointing!

RiverFire Trip: Top One Chinese Seafood Restaurant (第一楼)
Posted by Unknown on 9:00 AM with No comments
The last time we had a leisure and relaxing trip was about three months ago, where we spent 2 days 1 night in Brisbane for my IELTS test. And last Saturday, we organized another trip down to Brisbane. I named it the "RiverFire Trip" as our main purpose was to get a view of the fireworks display for the opening of the Brisbane River Festival 2010. We first picked up Cynthia, Vera, and Jefry from Vibe Hotel located on the Gold Coast's Surfers Paradise, then yumcha together at Top One Chinese Seafood Restaurant. Overall, the food was alright, some tasted good while some tasted bad.
