I've just got myself a comfy pair of flats yesterday *grin* It's black color (save me washing them every now and then) and has these cute little ribbons at the front, sweeeet!

Fraser Island: Eli Creek

Fraser Island: Eli Creek

Let's hop on the time machine and get transported back to the day when we visited one of  the most popular natural wonders on Fraser Island — Eli Creek. It is the largest freshwater streams on the eastern coast of Fraser Island, with over four million litres of water flowing from its mouth onto the beach and into the ocean every hour. Amazing!

Life Got Better

Sunnybank: Little Hong Kong Restaurant

Just a quickie! My part-time jobs have been keeping me very occupied lately, days and nights... can barely squeeze some time out to update my blog, sorry guys > <" Just so you know, the new job has been treating me pretty well so far with considerably good pay and benefits. And I'm really enjoying myself although it could be a bit boring sometimes ^^ Today's update has zero relation with the food pix above, it was just a Valentine's Eve dinner we had together at the Little Hong Kong, Sunnybank. Til then, take care my dear friends and have fun living your life to the fullest!

Toowoomba Sports Club: Chop Goh Meh Celebration Dinner

Chap Goh Meh, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day (元宵节) which falls on the 15th as well as the last day of lunisolar Chinese New Year celebration. My boi and I have been deliberately planned to try out the Gardens Brasserie at the Toowoomba Sports Club, but there were always obstacles in the way until today, we finally got the perfect time and reason to visit the restaurant! Just like City Golf Club, membership sign-up is required (only $2.50 annually) prior accessing its facilities, unless you're accompanied by a member of course =)

Queen Street Mall: The Crepe Cafe

David Jones Queen Street Mall Brisbane

Happy Valentine's Day to the boyfriends girlfriends, hubbys wifeys, and all the singles out there!!! As mentioned in my Pre-Valentine's Celebration post, we went down to Brisbane last Sunday. It was still early (about 8 maybe) after picking up our friend from the airport. We then decided to have a super early breakfast at the Crepe Cafe in Queen Street Mall, while waiting for David Jones and other shops to open. I was really really tired that day with barely an hour cat nap in the car, my panda eyes and sleepy face tell everything...

Platform 9: Pre-Valentine's Day Celebration

Platform 9 Toowoomba: Pre-Valentine's Day Celebration

My boi has made a booking at the Platform 9 Cafe & Restaurant this early morning for a little Valentine's Day celebration between two of us in advance. We felt a bit disappointed when we were told that the inside of the restaurant has already been booked out for wedding party, and we were asked if we would like to sit outside even with reservation. The answer in my head was absolutely definitely a "NO" cause it was really hot this afternoon and I'll never wanna take photos with my make-up melting off my face =P Anyway, we were considerably lucky to bump into our lady friend who happened to work today. Thanks for her warm and friendly service =)

Queen Street Mall Food Court: CNY Day 1

What's everyone doing on the 6th day of Chinese New Year? I assume most of you already snapped back to do whatever you're supposed to be doing (working, studying or doing nothing) by now. The Chinese New Year down under was nothing much but  hanging out with a bunch of close friends and tasting good food in the red-est outfit we've got in our closets. Wait a minute, did you just say that this is the most boring Chinese New Year celebration you've ever heard? Well, we've had worse, trust me =.="

Small-town girl Ali (Christina Aguilera) leaves her job as an Iowan waitress, and heads for the big lights of Los Angeles. She stumbles upon a neo-burlesque club run by a former dance, Tess (Cher), starts working her way up, and eventually becomes the main attraction, with her intense vocal range and elaborate interpretations of dance numbers, which turns out to be a godsend for Tess, who struggles to keep the aging theater alive, facing all kinds of financial and artistic challenges. La Kasbah Brisbane: Tunisian French Arabic North African Restaurant

It was a steamy hot ride driving down to Brisbane on "Nian Chu Yi".  We spent hours shopping at QSM (Queens Street Mall), got myself nothing but an eye cream from the Body Shop. Unbelievable but true! Around dinner time, we came to this La Kasbah Restaurant with the vouchers we pre-purchased online via Spreets. We were not informed in any way about the prohibition of using more than one voucher per table, until the person at the bar approached us. I'm guessing HE is the person in charge and was very rude to us with his sit-down-or-go-away attitude when we first walked into the restaurant. I mean, we deserved to be treated fairly and well regardless it was a discounted meal or not. Geez, he kinda spoiled our Chinese New Year mood that day ><"

Chinese New Year's Eve Reunion Dinner 2011

Chinese New Year's Eve 2011

Chinese New Year's Eve is the day where Chinese families or friends (if you're far away from your family like me and my friends here) gather under one roof for annual reunion dinner. It is commonly known as "除夕" or "年三十晚" among Chinese. On that very night, we've prepared a total of 8 main dishes, a dessert, and some Chinese New Year cookies for just the 6 of us! And the dishes were all fantastically D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S including the #1 Pork Maw Pepper Soup (猪肚汤) and #2 Spicy Prawn with Bamboo Shoot (竹笋虾仁) which are not shown in the photos below.
