Camera Museum Georgetown Penang

My journey to explore the Pearl of Orient continues. Needless to say, I am referring to my second home, Penang, not Asia's World City. Hehe.

I had my third visit to the Chinese Medical Practitioner (highly recommended) in Bukit Mertajam last Sunday. It's a huge relief that my thumb is actually making very good progress within the past three months without the need of depo-steroid injection.

The only drawback is, it weaken my wrist the following few days after each visit. Extra care has to be taken to avoid hurting my injured tendons again. Well, you better don't disappoint me 'cause I'm really counting myself on going to ESCAPE soon!!!

Back to today's topic. We toured the Camera Museum downtown on the same day's afternoon. We were a bit reluctant to go in at first as the entrance fees are not cheap and they were four of us altogether. But guess what? Money well spent on an eye-opening experience.

Li Shan Dui (李山兑) Lee Jetty
Lee Jetty, alternatively known as Seh Lee Keo in Hokkien, is the fourth clan jetty from the north, situated between Tan Jetty and Mixed Clan Jetty. There was a karaoke competition going on last night, when we swung by this place. It brought us a very bright and Mid-Autumn feel seeing all those colorful lights and lanterns. Happy Mid-Autumn in advance, everyone!!!

Hatyai Chedi Traiphop Thaimongkhon / Stainless Steel Temple
Hatyai, sometimes being spelled as Hat Yai, Had Yai or Haad Yai, is the largest city of Songkhla Province in southern Thailand. On a broiling hot Saturday, we traveled more than two hundred kilometres up north to Chedi Traiphop Thaimongkhon aka the Hatyai Stainless Steel Temple on Ko Hong Mountain.

By the time we arrived, it was already past two in the afternoon, Malaysia Time (MYT). It's subtle how the temperature increases every time we cross the border of Malaysia-Thailand. So clammy and ravenous I was that I secretly wished we were dining in an air-conditioned restaurant, feeding scrumptious good food into my mouth instead.

New Year's Eve Countdown Fireworks

Kangaroo Point Southbank: New Year's Eve Countdown Fireworks
How did everyone spend your New Year's Eve? I spent mine with a bunch of close friends down in Brisbane. We were there for the countdown fireworks. Oh well, not exactly a New Year's Eve countdown since it started around 8.30pm. People mountain people sea (idiomatically means huge crowds of people) and the streets were flooded with cars.

Toowoomba's Christmas Wonderland 2012

We had a special guest visiting and staying with us over the weekend. On Saturday, after 6 hours of work in the afternoon, we went downtown to grab some Asian groceries and the fresh ingredients needed to prepare dinner that night.

I made them glorious home-cooked food! *victory pose*

Thinking back, it has been a long while since I last cooked so many dishes for my favorite meal of the day. We later drove William to the upper part of Queens Park (where Toowoomba's Christmas Wonderland is) for an eye-opening sight-seeing and photo-shooting experience.

Ho~Ho~Ho~ Merry Christmas in advance to my dearest family, friends and readers out there!!!

Amity Point, North Stradbroke Island
Visiting Amity Point, the sand bar between Straddie and Moreton Islands, really brought back a lot of good memories we shared at the Urangan Pier, Hervey Bay a couple of years ago. It was the second destination on our itinerary after Brown Lake that day. Sunny blue skies, puffy white clouds, golden yellow sand, emerald sea with calm waters, the setting couldn't be any more perfect for a fishing sight-seeing trip or a beautiful walking tour.

The Stradbroke Island One-Day Tour
Here comes the full-day guided Stradbroke Island tour which I had been yearning for!!! It was 7 a.m. that morning (around 10 degrees or probably lower) when we walked up to the Roma Street bus stop no.125. Short jeans, bikinis, flip flops... The combination sounded ideal for sunshine and beaches, but certainly not at this time of the year. I nearly got myself frozen to death by the cold wind!

The Wheel of Brisbane and South Bank Parklands
At last, I'm proud to say out loud that we've "conquered" the Wheel of Brisbane with honors!!! The ferries wheel which I had been wanting and dreaming to ride since the day I laid my eyes on is now a history. Another tick off on the to-do list! *cheers* This attraction of South Bank was built about 4 years ago, in celebrations of the 20th anniversary of World Expo 88 and the 150th anniversary of the State of Queensland 1859–2009. Initially, it was scheduled to be operated from 2008 to 2010, but has now been extended to remain until 2012, just enough time for us two to come back for the joyful ride, sweeeeet! =)

Great Barrier Reef Trip Day 3: Lady Musgrave Court and Captain Cook Drive
At last, I've finished written up my last entry to conclude our 3D2N trip to the Great Barrier Reef! And since it was a road trip, there was so much time spent on either sitting in the bus or riding on the boat. I'd rather take flights if we were to visit Cairns next time, seriously. Upon our arrival on the first day, we had so much fun playing on the Agnes Water Beach. Day 2 was even more exciting with activities like guided walk at the Carpicornia Cays National Park, fish feeding and hours of snorkeling at the Lady Musgrave Island and Coral Lagoon, as well as sunset watching and a little bush walking at the Joseph Banks Conservation Park.

Great Barrier Reef Trip Day 2: Lady Musgrave Cruise 'Spirit of 1770'
Day 2 of our Great Barrier Reef Trip. I woke up at 5 a.m. in the morning after having a not-so-good night sleep. Not that I wanted to, but I'm a very light sleeper who tolerates zero noise when I'm asleep. There were people snoring, bunk beds creaking... and all other noises that drove me nuts *pulling hair*

Great Barrier Reef Trip Day 1: Holiday Inn Brisbane
Happy Easter Monday, everybody!!! I'm officially back from my 3 days package tour to the Great Barrier Reef, still in a stage of recovering from my holiday mood and getting some rest in my home sweet home. The road trip was indeed an awesome one with my traveling buddies and Sunset Safaris, except the long hours sitting and crampy tight hips. In that very morning of departure, we met up at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Brisbane and took off around 7-ish.

Singapore Trip: Clarke Quay and Ion Orchard

Back to my Singapore trip. I finally squeezed out some time to filter those photos which have been abandoned on my hard drive for quite a while. And I noticed there isn't many or totally no "me" in the photos. What to do, my handy cameraman was not beside me...

Sunset

Sunset
This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, love to complete your life. - Theodore Roethke

Summer Photoshoot at the Japanese Garden

Summer Photoshoot at Japanese Garden

Though I'm still not fully recovered from the food poison last night, but I insisted to go out for a walk this afternoon, all because of the wonderful weather outside, blue sky, sunny day, gentle breeze... And we did a summer photo-shoot at the Japanese Garden with no make-up, no professional photographer, just me and the beautiful summer.

Whisper The Maltase

Those who do not know me well, might not know that I'm actually more like a dog person than cat. I love small-breed dogs, Maltase particularly. Pomeranian and Yorkshire Terrier are cute too! It was love at the first sight when I first met Whisper, my blogger friend's baby daughter. How I wish I had an exact same one, but I guess I'm still not financially and mentally prepared at this stage. That left me with the option to play with other's first, in order to quench my thirst.

Louie, Louie, Louie...

Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Delightful GM
I'm gonna teach you guys a little trick today. First, just find yourself a mirror, regardless it's in your bathroom, bedroom, or anywhere else. Then stare into the mirror in the darkened room lit only by a candle and repeat the name of something that you really wanted for three times. I say, " Louie, Louie, Louie..." A Louis Vuitton shall appear right in front of my eyes now! And yours too, LoL!!! Forgive my silly joke. I was kind of in the Halloween spirit, only seven more days to come.
