I was such a sleepyhead this morning, woke up at 10 something realizing I needed to wash and blow-dry my hair today. There goes my precious two hours to dress up, breakfast and all. We drove to the city facing massive traffic on the roads, car parks were full everywhere as everyone was making their ways to the Toowoomba Languages and Cultures (TLC) Festival held at Queens Park.

The firework show at the Queens Park this year was extraordinarily phenomenal!!! We considered ourselves very lucky to be there just in time, right before it started.

Toowoomba Sunday Market at PCYC
Posted by Unknown on 12:01 AM with No comments
Usually, at this time of Sundays, my boi and I would still snuggled warm in our beds, instead of dragging ourselves out in the cold to grab some fresh fruits and veggies at the Toowoomba PCYC Markets. We were amazed to see that the area has already been resurfaced with tar now. No more muddy walk in rainy days!

Winter Scenery of Toowoomba
Posted by Unknown on 5:17 AM with No comments
Toowoomba has the most beautiful scenery around the time of winter season each year. Extraordinary blue skies with barely a wisp of a cloud...

Flash Floods Hits Toowoomba 10.01.2011
Posted by Unknown on 1:06 AM with No comments
After several consecutive days of heavy rain, flash floods (which is also called the "Inland Tsunami") finally hits Toowoomba today, the city where my boi and I currently living in. I feel so so lucky that I'm still sitting here in my room, safe and sound, and updating my blog like I usually do. Thank goodness our car was not washed down by the flood, damaged or whatsoever. Let's together pray for the heavy rain to go away, the Rain God has showered too much love on us already.
FYI, the Queensland Government has launched an appeal to help fellow Queenslanders affected by the recent floods. Click here to donate to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal today! (financial donations only)

New Year Outdoor BBQ at West Creek Park
Posted by Unknown on 9:14 PM with No comments
On the New Year's Eve, we had no celebration or whatsoever countdown party due to work obligations. It was hell of a busy night that night, and I only managed to get home half an hour before the clock strikes 12, thank goodness! My boi and I spent the rest of our night (roughly an hour and a half) "dissecting" the 2.6 kg whole turkey and marinated it with a secret recipe of mine: five-spice powder, light soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, Hua Tiao Chinese cooking wine, and garlic mince (don't forget to thank me if you were about to steal my recipe k =p). The turkey turned out to taste and smell so good, and the meat was so tender (another secret to pick up on how to cut and handle the meat before marinating). The next morning, we made up our New Year celebration with an outdoor barbecue at the West Creek Park together with several other close friends of us.

61st Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers: Flower Parade
Posted by Unknown on 4:01 AM with No comments
Today, I'll be presenting you a series of highlight photos taken a couple of months ago, at the 61st Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Opening Ceremony. And if you notice, most of them (I'm referring to the performers) cooperated very well when I pointed my camera towards them. You know why? It's solely because a pretty lady standing there holding a Nikon D40 in her my hands did appear to be a little more catchy than others =P

Saturday Night: A Good Good Night
Posted by Unknown on 10:37 AM with No comments
My boi and I only club like once in a blue moon. It could probably be 2 to 3 times a year or maybe lesser or even none at all. Speaking of which, what's so different between the night clubs in Malaysia and those we have here in Australia? When I was back in Malaysia, the word "clubbing" always remind me of going to a place with lots of smokers around, and I always ended up coming home with terribly stinky hair (even after washed for a couple of times). I'm sure you ladies understand what I'm saying here. But here, we get to enjoy clubbing in a smoke-free environment, that means no hair-wash required plus extra time in bed!

Newtown Park State Rose Garden (Queens Park)
Posted by Unknown on 8:46 AM with No comments
I used to mistaken Newton Park as part of Queens Park, but that's not the case really. The historical park is situated right next to Queens Park and it's bounded by Holberton, Taylor, Tor and Pottinger Streets. When my close friend's boyfriend was still in Toowoomba, we paid a little visit there in the afternoon and were completely dazzled by those spring blooming flowers in front of our eyes.

My Big Day: USQ Masters Graduation at the Empire Threatre 2010 (Part 2)
Posted by Unknown on 9:31 PM with No comments
Okay first of all, I admit that I might be a little too anxious to show you all of my graduation photos. But do forgive my anxiety, these photos are priceless to me and there would be no part 3 or 4 after today's post, I promise. And by the way, it's my beloved mommy's birthday today! I wanna wish her here, "Happy Birthday Mommy! I love you, miss you, and like you always said, please take a good care of yourself too!".

Posted by Unknown on 2:04 AM with No comments
Yesterday was the best day in my life! The weather was perfectly fine, with a big yellow sun shining so brightly in the blue blue sky. Dear all, I'm here to announce that I've finally graduated on the 11th of September, 2010! It's my second (masters) graduation in Australia so far, the first one (bachelors) was back in 2008, which took place exactly two years ago. I felt happy, very very happy indeed, although my family did not manage to attend my graduation ceremony this time, but at least I still got my boi and my dear friends to cheer for me, standing right by my side. Thanks guys and girls, you all have made my big day perfect in every way, especially my boi ❤ love ya! *muackz*

Picnic at the Japanese Garden
Posted by Unknown on 10:30 AM with No comments
We had a pot-luck picnic at the Japanese Garden yesterday, around 4 pm in the afternoon and the weather was considerably warm with bright and sunny sky. My boi and I had brought some fruits and chocolate fruit cake, while Kitt on the other hand prepared these tart-looking mini pizzas.

Birthday Barbecue at Queens Park
Posted by Unknown on 6:38 AM with No comments
Last Saturday afternoon, 14 of us gathered together at the Queens Park in celebration of San's 22nd birthday. The park was pretty packed with kids and families as we reached there. Thank goodness both the barbecue facilities were not occupied by any of them.

Yesterday, before the candlelight dinner, my boi and I went to do some groceries at the Clifford Gardens. We don't usually come here unless we are in need of seafood such as oysters and others.
