Kinoko is a popular Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Byron town centre. After an exciting photo-shooting session at the Cape Byron Lighthouse, we had a sneaky peek at few of the local restaurants and finally decided to pop in here to try out its fabulously fresh sushi and seafood.

Byron Bay: The Cape Byron Lighthouse (Part One)
Posted by Unknown on 7:04 AM with No comments
On the second week of our two weeks mid-semester break (3 days after my graduation ceremony), me, my boi and another four friends of us went on a 3D2N road trip to Byron Bay, Hervey Bay, and Fraser Island. Our first stop of the trip was to yumcha at the Landmark Chinese Restaurant in Sunnybank, then check-in to Mantra On Salt Beach (our first night accommodation in Kingcliff). After brunch, we drove approximately 60 km or more from Kingscliff to the Cape Byron Lighthouse at Byron Bay, a well-known lighthouse situated on the most easterly point of the mainland of Australia.

A Night Out at the Coffee Club
Posted by Unknown on 8:25 AM with No comments
There was a mini fireworks display at the lower part of Queens Park this evening at 6.30 pm. The reason I called it "mini" is because the fireworks only lasted for 10 minutes or so, but it was great still (despite the wet and muddy field). We didn't stay much longer after the event and headed straight off to the Coffee Club to have our dinner.

Mid Autumn Candlelight Dinner with My Boi
Posted by Unknown on 8:51 AM with No comments
On the night of fullmoon (which is the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calender), my boi has arranged a special candlelight dinner for just the two of us at the Christopher's Restaurant. We arrived there before 7.30 pm and waited more than an hour for the meals to get on our table *frustrated* I can't believe they actually starved their customers for that long *disappointed* And right now, I'm still thinking that whether or not we should come here again in the future.

Our Little Mid Autumn Celebration 2010
Posted by Unknown on 5:43 AM with No comments
Dear all, how was your Mid-Autumn celebration yesterday? Well, let me share you the little celebration we had last night at my friend's place. Each of us prepared a type of light / finger food and gathered under the moonlight. We talked, ate, and laughed our way through the evening. Simple, yet something that you can't afford to miss out.

Fitzy's On Church at Fitzys Fibber Magee Irish Pub
Posted by Unknown on 7:46 AM with No comments
For the second time we were here at the Fitzy's On Church to have dinner. The medium sized restaurant is physically attached to Fitzy's Fibber Magee Irish Pub and it offers a variety of modern as well as traditional Australian cuisine. Our initial plan of tonight was to have our meals at the Christopher's Restaurant at the Blue Mountain Hotel, but surprisingly the kitchen was already closed (at freaking 8.15 pm on a Tuesday night?!) by the time we got there.

Newtown Park State Rose Garden (Queens Park)
Posted by Unknown on 8:46 AM with No comments
I used to mistaken Newton Park as part of Queens Park, but that's not the case really. The historical park is situated right next to Queens Park and it's bounded by Holberton, Taylor, Tor and Pottinger Streets. When my close friend's boyfriend was still in Toowoomba, we paid a little visit there in the afternoon and were completely dazzled by those spring blooming flowers in front of our eyes.

RiverFire Trip: Landmark Chinese Restaurant
Posted by Unknown on 1:36 AM with No comments
Dear all, I'm back from our 3D2N trip to Byron Bay, Hervey Bay, and Fraser Island. Finally, a fun yet tiring trip has come to an end! I apologize if I had kept you waiting for so many days (4 days isn't really that long anyway, hehe). There are heaps and heaps of photos pending for me to deal with, I wish I could just share them all with you, like now? But, for the moment, let's just stick to our RiverFire Trip k? On the last night of our stay in Brisbane, we had a glorious seafood dinner at the Landmark Chinese Restaurant in Sunnybank. The meals were superb and the female staff who served us was very friendly (overly friendly I'd say).

Graduation Dinner at Blue Mountain Hotel (Christopher's Restaurant)
Posted by Unknown on 7:46 AM with No comments
On my graduation day, me, my boi and my several other close friends came to have a little celebration dinner at the Blue Mountain Hotel (Christopher's Restaurant is the exact name of the restaurant). The food they served were simply delicious and we got our two main courses for the price of one (if you present them the unexpired dining voucher printed on the back of Coles docket). So how much did it actually cost us? Only $17.70, excluding the dessert of course!!!

But do forgive my anxiety, these photos are priceless to me and there would be no part 3 or 4 after today's post, I promise. And by the way, it's my beloved mommy's birthday today! I wanna wish her here, "Happy Birthday Mommy! I love you, miss you, and like you always said, please take a good care of yourself too!".

Yesterday was the best day in my life! The weather was perfectly fine, with a big yellow sun shining so brightly in the blue blue sky. Dear all, I'm here to announce that I've finally graduated on the 11th of September, 2010! It's my second (masters) graduation in Australia so far, the first one (bachelors) was back in 2008, which took place exactly two years ago. I felt happy, very very happy indeed, although my family did not manage to attend my graduation ceremony this time, but at least I still got my boi and my dear friends to cheer for me, standing right by my side. Thanks guys and girls, you all have made my big day perfect in every way, especially my boi ❤ love ya! *muackz*

RiverFire Trip: Madtongsan Korean Cuisine
Posted by Unknown on 5:46 AM with No comments
On the night of September 4th, where most of the restaurants and cafes in Brisbane city centre were "overloaded" by crowd of people. A big group of us walked, walked and kept walking for don't-know-how-long, until we finally came to the front of this Madtongsan Korean Restaurant at the Elizabeth Arcade. Unexceptionably, the restaurant was also packed with long queue waiting to be seated. But we waited patiently until there was a table available for 6 of us.

RiverFire Trip: Novotel Brisbane
Posted by Unknown on 5:40 AM with No comments
After the yumcha session in Gold Coast, we drove 79.4 km back to Brisbane and got ourselves checked in to the Novotel at Creek Street. The one night accommodation was totally FREE (yes, you heard me right!) including our in-room midnight snack, cheese plate with quince paste and crisp crackers, and American breakfast for two. Hehe, weren't we the lucky ones?

RiverFire Trip: Top One Chinese Seafood Restaurant (第一楼)
Posted by Unknown on 9:00 AM with No comments
The last time we had a leisure and relaxing trip was about three months ago, where we spent 2 days 1 night in Brisbane for my IELTS test. And last Saturday, we organized another trip down to Brisbane. I named it the "RiverFire Trip" as our main purpose was to get a view of the fireworks display for the opening of the Brisbane River Festival 2010. We first picked up Cynthia, Vera, and Jefry from Vibe Hotel located on the Gold Coast's Surfers Paradise, then yumcha together at Top One Chinese Seafood Restaurant. Overall, the food was alright, some tasted good while some tasted bad.

Picnic at the Japanese Garden
Posted by Unknown on 10:30 AM with No comments
We had a pot-luck picnic at the Japanese Garden yesterday, around 4 pm in the afternoon and the weather was considerably warm with bright and sunny sky. My boi and I had brought some fruits and chocolate fruit cake, while Kitt on the other hand prepared these tart-looking mini pizzas.
